Don't Breastfeed In the Park

Well one of my funny breastfeeding stories began when I was taking my baby for a stroll in the local park.

I had taken him on the swings and after a while he began to cry. I figured he was hungry so I decided to sit on a bench and feed him. I picked a bench that was somewhat away from the rest of the children and adults.

I walked over to a shady area to escape the strong rays of the sun, and began to breastfeed. As he was suckling, I decided that I should pump some milk out for later. Deciding this I put Joey down in his stroller. I pulled out the pump, since no one was around, and took off my bra to pump milk out from my other nipple.

As I was doing this an older man appeared from the left side of the bushy road. He walked over to me and decided to ask me if it hurt to pump out milk.

Feeling uncomfortable I told him I rather not answer that question. He simply and angrily replied that I was being an unfit mother because I was teaching my child that public nudity was acceptable.

In this day and age, I would think that it was acceptable to breastfeed in public but apparently nature’s way did not suit the curious man.

Besides this experience I have never had a problem during breastfeeding. I would suggest to all new mothers getting used to switching off breasts because one may end up feeling heavier if you continue to use the same breast.

I have several more interesting breastfeeding stories that involve my son Joey and me. Such an example would be how he likes to bite if he becomes frustrated. You would think a child with only two teeth cannot bite hard but you want to be careful as to not get blood in the milk.
